Henri Carnier (1800–1868) was a British artist renowned for his evocative oil paintings, often depicting Venetian canals, Middle Eastern street scenes, and North African vistas. His works have been featured in various auctions, with realized prices ranging from $570 to $3,465, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Notably, some of his paintings are believed to be the work of Austrian artist Karl Kaufmann (1843–1905), who frequently used pseudonyms, including 'Henri Carnier.' This practice has led to some ambiguity in attributing certain artworks.
