Hasegawa Sadanobu III (1881–1963), known by the artist name Konobu III, was the third generation of the Hasegawa printmaking lineage in Osaka, Japan. Born Nobutarō, he was trained by his father, Hasegawa Sadanobu II (Konobu I), and became notable for his richly detailed ukiyo-e designs focused on kabuki and bunraku theater themes. In the mid-1920s, he produced major series including a thirty-print set illustrating kabuki kumadori makeup designs and a forty-eight-print collection depicting puppets and scenes from bunraku plays presented at the Osaka Bunraku theater. His work is characterized by refined linework, vivid color, and theatrical subject matter.
