Graciela Rodo Boulanger was born in 1935 in La Paz, Bolivia. She became an acclaimed artist known for her stylized depictions of children and allegorical surrealist imagery. Encouraged by her pianist mother and art-loving father, she studied at the School of Fine Arts from age 11 and exhibited in Vienna and Salzburg by 18. After moving to Paris with her husband Claude Boulanger, she gained recognition for her paintings, etchings, and prints, studying under Johnny Friedlaender. Her work earned her a UNICEF commission for the International Year of the Child poster, and her tapestries have been displayed at the United Nations. Boulanger’s pieces are widely held in public, private, and corporate collections, and she continues to create art today.
