Gilbert Rohde (1894–1944) was an American industrial designer known for his modernist furniture and innovative contributions to mid-century design. A key figure in the transition from traditional to modern styles, he collaborated with Herman Miller in the 1930s, helping to establish the company's reputation for contemporary furniture. Rohde's designs emphasized clean lines, functionality, and new materials like Bakelite and bentwood. His influence extended beyond furniture to clocks, lighting, and interiors, shaping the aesthetic of American homes and offices in the early 20th century.
