Françoise Gilot (1921-2023) was a French painter and author renowned for her vibrant and expressive abstract works, spanning eight decades. Despite her decade-long relationship with Pablo Picasso, with whom she had two children, Gilot remained fiercely independent in her artistic pursuits. She continued to paint prolifically, creating over 6,000 works characterized by bold colors and dynamic compositions often drawn from mythology. Gilot's work is held in major museums worldwide, and in 2024, the Picasso Museum in Paris dedicated a room to her, acknowledging her legacy as a significant artist in her own right.
