From the Grand Canal to the Doges Palace, the gondoliers to the lagoons, Benvenuti focused on painting the city of Venice, which makes up the majority of subject matter within his works. With his precise brushwork and attention to detail, Benvenuti captured Venice in different times of day, playing with the light on the water and in the sky to convey mood and atmosphere.
