Donald Pollard (1924-1994) American, Steuben "Trillium" Art Glass Bowl. Designed in 1958, one of their classic three-footed designs. Signed on the underside. 

Size: 5 1/4 x 9 3/4 in. 

Donald Pence Pollard was born in Bronxville, New York, on September 3rd, 1924, and studied art and architectural theater design at the Rhode Island School of Design before working in the silver trainee program at the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art. Pollard joined Steuben Glass in 1950, crafting classic designs like the Crystal Palace Vase and engraved pieces utilizing mythological forms. He remained a major designer with them until his retirement in 1981, and spent his final years painting at his home studio until his death on May 5th, 1994.
