Don Snyder was born in Toledo, Ohio in 1925, and studied art at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. He worked for many years in commercial art in Detroit, Michigan, eventually retiring to a home studio in Birmingham, Michigan to explore a myriad of other mediums, including metal, wood, and stained glass, alongside his wife Jo, a painter. When he passed away in 2005 he left a tremendous legacy of sculptures, paintings, and other art that is found in numerous personal and corporate collections throughout the Midwest.
