Dinah K. Worman was born in 1950 in Midland, Texas, and after suffering a broken arm and brain injury from being hit by a car when she was four she spent her convalescence drawing to relearn motor control skills. Her family moved to Durango, Colorado when she was nine, and she went on to study art at Colorado State University before transferring to a university in Oklahoma to be closer to them, where she met and married David Worman, a Navy jet pilot. They lived for three years in Naples, Italy, where the Italian masters had a profound impact on her style and led her to focus on architectural and landscape painting when they returned to the United States and settled in Sheridan, Wyoming to open her first gallery. After a move to Denver for work David’s sudden death from a congenital brainstem abnormality in the mid 1980s led her and her two daughters to relocate to Taos, New Mexico in 1995, where she obtained her Bachelors from Metropolitan State University and began winning awards for her pastels and oils. In the early 2010s she began to shift more and more towards abstraction which brought her international acclaim, and today she continues to produce new works that are found in public, private, and corporate collections across the globe.
