David Hayes (1931-2013) was a prominent American sculptor known for his abstract geometric works that melded industrial materials with organic forms. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Hayes initially pursued engineering before finding his true passion in sculpture during his time at Indiana University and the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
