David Schluss (born 1943) is an Israeli-American contemporary artist celebrated for his vibrant, whimsical paintings that emphasize joy, music, love, and the human spirit. Born in Israel, he later studied fine arts in Montreal, Canada, where he developed his distinctive artistic style after being inspired by masters such as Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, and Fernando Botero. Uniquely, Schluss creates many of his paintings using only his hands and fingers rather than traditional brushes, producing richly textured, expressive works filled with flowing figures and brilliant color. Since opening his studio in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1983, his paintings, sculptures, and limited-edition prints have been exhibited internationally and are held in museums and private collections around the world, earning him recognition as one of today's most distinctive contemporary figurative artists.
