Cornelius Christian Zwaan (1919-1984) was a Dutch-American artist known for his Impressionist-inspired paintings of still lives, floral arrangements, and serene landscapes. Born in Holland, he trained in the European tradition before emigrating to the United States, where his work gained quick recognition. His paintings are celebrated for their luminous color, loose brushwork, and ability to capture atmosphere with both delicacy and vibrancy. Zwaan's legacy lies in his elegant interpretations of nature, which successfully blend Old World technique with a modern sensibility.
