Cindy Hirt (Born 1953) American, Mixed Media Wall Art Mirror. Combining metalworking, weaving, stained glass, and more into one tropical creation. Signed bottom left. 

Condition: Some small separation of two sections and a crack on one of the glass panels. 

Size: 17 1/2 x 11 1/4 in. 

Cindy Hirt was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1953. She studied at the University of Florida, where she discovered art for the first time in the late 1970s. She first studied weaving, incorporating numerous local elements including palm tree bark and Spanish moss. In the 1980s she shifted to making mixed media assemblages and sculptures, combining stained glass, metals, and found objects to create wall art, mirrors, and much more. In 2006 she met Randy Pardue, a copper artist who began collaborating with her regularly, and together they opened a studio in Gainesville where they have worked alongside each other ever since. Their pieces can be found in private and public collections all along the Florida coast and throughout the Southeast.
