Christopher "Chris" Browne (1952-2023) was an American cartoonist and the son of legendary cartoonist Dik Browne, creator of Hi and Lois and Hägar the Horrible. Growing up in Connecticut, Chris learned to draw alongside his brother Chance, and began contributing regularly to both of his father's popular comic strips. When his father died in 1989, Chris took over writing and drawing for Hägar the Horrible, while his brother took on Hi and Lois. He continued to produce the classic Viking strip for King Features Syndicate until his death in 2023.
