Chinese United Wilson Porcelain Lidded and Four Footed Oval Vessel. Red and white mountain and trees design throughout, with ormolu top handle and five-toed feet, as well as geometric bottom edge and a thin line on the cusp of the lid. The porcelain section can be removed from the footed base. Marked on underside, along with label saying it was made in the People's Republic of China, and another that specifies "Not for food serving, may poison food, for decorative use only."

The United Wilson Porcelain Factory was originally founded as a small porcelain making and painting workshop in Macau, China in 1897 by Jin Longsheng and Yong Heng. In the 1940s Heng’s daughter-in-law Elsa took over the enterprise along with her husband Nelson, and during the tumultuous 1960s and 70s the entire company was gradually moved to Hong Kong to capitalize on the freedom of trade afforded by the island. They also opened J&P Trading Company, specializing in the export of porcelain to the United States and Europe, and took over several failing Chinese factories during economic downturns, resulting in a greatly expanded empire once a boom resumed. In 1978 the United Wilson Porcelain Factory was officially founded, offering a wide array of exquisite patterns from traditional blue and white to famille rose, satsuma, and Japanese imari. After a trip through Europe in the 1990s they began to fuse Eastern and Western styles together, creating homages to 18th Century Rococo designs. In the 2020s United Wilson remains the oldest family-run porcelain brand in Hong Kong, continuing to explore innovative ways to honor the past while looking forward to the future.
