Charles Fazzino (born 1955), a seminal post-modern American pop artist, is renowned for his signature 3D silkscreen serigraphs. Born to a Finnish sculptor and an Italian shoe designer in New York City, he graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1977, the same year he first exhibited his work at the Greenwich Village Art Show. Fazzino's style involves using an Exacto knife to create multi-layered, three-dimensional figures from his original works, a process he compares to "layering a lasagna." Since the 2000s, he has also incorporated Swarovski crystals into his pieces for a glittering effect. His work is on permanent display in over 20 countries, and he has been commissioned for major events like the Super Bowl and the Grammy Awards, as well as for the United States Olympic Committee and various government agencies.
