Tim Jaeger (born 1979) is a prominent Sarasota-based painter and educator who has served as a cornerstone of the Florida Gulf Coast arts community for over two decades. Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, Jaeger moved to Sarasota in 1998 to attend Ringling College of Art and Design, where he graduated with a B.F.A. as a Trustee Scholar. His artistic practice is characterized by a "gestural" style that bridges abstraction and representation, famously captured in his long-running "Chicken Scratch" rooster series and his vibrant explorations of local Florida themes, including historical murals like those at the Lido Beach Pavilion. Beyond the studio, Jaeger is a significant institutional leader, serving as the Director and Chief Curator of Galleries + Exhibitions at Ringling College, where he also teaches courses on curatorial studies and figure drawing. In 2024, he expanded his community impact by launching the 502 Gallery in Sarasota's Rosemary District, continuing his mission to make contemporary art accessible to new collectors while fostering the growth of emerging and established artists.
