Benson Bond Moore (August 13, 1882 – November 1, 1974) was an American painter and etcher renowned for his landscapes and animal portraits. Born in Washington, D.C., Moore was immersed in the art world from an early age, learning painting conservation from his father, who was known as the "picture man to the Presidents." He pursued formal art education at the Corcoran School of Art under Edmund Clarence Messer, Richard Norris Brooke, and Max Weyl, and studied drawing at the Linthicum Institute under Ballenger. In 1914, Moore co-founded The Ramblers Sketch Club, which later evolved into the Washington Society of Landscape Painters. Throughout his career, he exhibited widely, including a solo exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in 1928. Moore's works are held in prominent collections such as the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, and the White House. He relocated to Florida in 1942, where he continued his artistic endeavors until his passing in 1974.
