Ben Smith (born 1941) is an Atlanta-based artist known for sculpture, male nude and figure drawing, collage, and printmaking. He is celebrated for his monumental woodblock prints of shamans, wizards, and ceremonial figures, some reaching up to 15 feet in size, characterized by bold black designs on white backgrounds with intricate details and occasional bright colors. In recent years, Smith has focused on drawing and teaching at the Chastain Arts Center and the Atlanta College of Art. His work is featured in prominent collections, including the High Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Morris Museum, the University of Kentucky, and Brown University.
