Attributed Loetz Iridescent Blue and Purple Art Vase. Tall thin art glass vase attributed to Loetz with iridescent surface finish and bulbous, standing on raised circular foot. Unmarked.

Loetz was a renowned Austrian glass manufacturer, best known for its innovative and highly decorative Art Nouveau glassware. Founded in the early 19th century and reaching its peak in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Loetz gained international recognition for its iridescent glass designs, often featuring organic, flowing shapes and vibrant colors. Inspired by the Art Nouveau movement, the company developed groundbreaking techniques, such as the "Phänomen" series, which showcased shimmering metallic finishes and intricate surface decorations. Loetz pieces were highly sought after and often compared to those of Tiffany and Daum. Despite financial struggles leading to its closure in the mid-20th century, Loetz glass remains highly collectible and admired for its artistic beauty and technical mastery.
