Antonio Carreño was born on June 13th, 1963 in the Dominican Republic and attended the National School of Fine Arts in Santo Domingo from 1976 to 1982 before traveling to the United States to study at the Art Student League in New York from 1988 to 1999. Carreño’s abstract experimental paintings found an international audience with solo and group exhibitions all over the world, and his pieces can be found in the public collections of Arizona State University, the Dominican America Institute of Culture in Santo Domingo, and the Latin American Museum of Modern Art in Washington, D.C. He continues to produce new works from his home studio in New Jersey.
