Àlvar Suñol Muñoz-Ramos (b. 1935), known professionally as Alvar, is a Spanish painter, sculptor, and lithographer from Catalonia recognized as one of Spain's foremost modernist artists. Studying at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes in Barcelona, he achieved early acclaim after winning the city's Young Painters Prize, which placed his work in its Museum of Modern Art. His art blends classical craftsmanship with a contemporary vision, using luminous colors and stylized figures to explore themes of love, peace, and human connection in galleries and museums worldwide.
