Alberto Zardo (1876-1959) was an Italian painter from Padua celebrated for his vivid landscapes and genre scenes that blended realism with expressive touches. He trained in painting at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts and also studied sculpture, earning early recognition with the Alinari Prize in 1901 for his illustrations of Dante's Divina Commedia. Zardo's paintings often portray idyllic pastoral life, featuring shepherds, animals, and rural Italian settings, rendered with rich color and dynamic brushwork. He became a resident member of the Florentine Academy in 1918, and his works remain valued for their charm and technical skill in depicting Italian life.
