William Skilling (1862 – 1964) was an American‑British painter active mainly in California, best known for his portrait and landscape works as well as large, often exotic animal subjects executed in oil. After serving in World War I he settled in San Francisco, where he became part of the local art scene and exhibited, including at the Oakland Art League in the late 1920s.
