(9) Cut to Clear Cranberry or Cobalt Glass Items, Glasses and Decanter. Lot comprised of nine cut to clear glass items, including four goblets, four small wine goblets, and one decanter. With sharp-cut floral and sunburst designs in rich cobalt or cranberry glass body.

Cut-to-clear glass is a decorative technique in which a layer of colored glass is overlaid atop a clear base and then precisely cut or engraved to reveal the transparent layer beneath, creating intricate, high-contrast designs. Often associated with Bohemian and American brilliant-period glassmaking, this method produces striking visual effects and is commonly used in the creation of vases, decanters, goblets, and ornamental glassware. The colored overlay is typically red, blue, green, or amber, and the patterns range from geometric motifs to floral and heraldic imagery. Valued for both its craftsmanship and dramatic aesthetic, cut-to-clear glass remains a favorite among collectors and decorative arts enthusiasts.
