(3) 19th Century Chinese Woodblock Prints from The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting. Lot comprised of three Chinese woodblock prints.

The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting (芥子園畫傳), first published in the late 17th century during the Qing dynasty, is a seminal Chinese painting manual compiled by Wang Gai and his brothers with support from patron Li Yu. Named after Li’s garden, it was created as an instructional guide for artists and scholars, using detailed woodblock prints to teach techniques in brushwork, composition, and the painting of landscapes, flowers, birds, and more. Dividing subjects into component parts before assembling full scenes, the manual became a cornerstone of traditional Chinese art education and remains influential across East Asia to this day.
