Lot comprised of two antique maps, including: large, ornate, double-hemisphere Blaeu Wall Map, characteristic of the 17th-century Golden Age of Dutch cartography, featuring lavish decorations, ships, and mythological scenes around the world map. The map on the right is a framed, detailed map focusing on the maritime area of Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean, featuring intricate coastline detail typical of later historical engravings, and is mounted in a highly stylized, modern wooden frame with decorative crystal corner accents.
