(2) Chinese Porcelain Items. Lot comprised of one dish with floral designs in bowl and rim, one jewelry or trinket box with yellow ground and ornate floral and foliate decoration. Unmarked.

Chinese porcelain, renowned for its elegance, durability, and technical sophistication, is one of the most significant contributions of Chinese artisans to global material culture. Developed as early as the Tang Dynasty and reaching peak refinement during the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, porcelain was made from kaolin clay and fired at high temperatures to achieve its signature translucence and strength. Chinese porcelain encompasses a wide variety of styles and techniques, from the understated celadon and monochromes of the Song period to the richly colored overglaze enamels of famille rose and the intricate blue-and-white wares of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Valued both for daily use and imperial or ceremonial contexts, it became a major export along the Silk Road and later through maritime trade, profoundly influencing ceramic traditions worldwide. With its combination of technical mastery and aesthetic grace, Chinese porcelain remains a timeless symbol of refinement and cultural heritage.
