(2) Antique Chinese Hand Carved Wooden Armchair. The chairs have a reddish-brown tone and feature ornate carvings. High back, armrests, and a solid seat. The chairs are adorned with intricate carvings, including stylized patterns and possibly depictions of figures or motifs.

Condition: Commensurate with age. 

Chinese wooden chairs, especially those from the Ming and Qing dynasties, embody a quiet elegance shaped by balance, restraint, and refined craftsmanship. With clean lines, flowing curves, and minimal ornamentation, their forms reflect the harmony of nature and human order—a philosophy deeply rooted in Confucian and Daoist ideals. Often made from rich hardwoods like huanghuali or zitan, these chairs exude warmth and authority, their horseshoe-shaped backs or straight-edged silhouettes inviting both reverence and repose.
