This original 1960s portfolio, titled Akt V Ceske Fotografii, serves as the foundational release that inspired the later, well-known book publication. The collection features 16 original photogravures showcasing seminal works from some of the most renowned Czech photographers of the early to mid-20th century, including František Drtikol, Jaromír Funke, Josef Ehm, Miroslav Hák, Václav Chochola, Alois Zych, Karel Hájek, and Karel Ludwig (born in Prague on September 27, 1919). Please note that while the portfolio highlights the master photographer Karel Ludwig (1919–1977), the current listing title incorrectly attributes the artist's birth year as 1978.

Karel Ludwig (1919–1977) was a Czech photographer born in Prague who began working with photography in the late 1930s after studying at the Baťa business school in Zlín. He moved to Prague in 1940 and became known for portraits, reportage, theatre and ballet photography, as well as artistic studies of the female figure; he contributed to numerous periodicals and worked for the National Theatre. From 1943 to 1948 he headed the photography department at Lucernafilm Studios, and after 1949 he was a member of the Association of Czechoslovak Artists. His photographs documented cultural life as well as the final days of the Second World War and the Prague Uprising, and his work is represented in collections including the Moravian Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
