Yossi Stern (1923–1992) was a Hungarian-born Israeli artist known for his evocative drawings and paintings that captured the spirit of Israel’s early years. A Holocaust survivor, he immigrated to Palestine in 1940 and became a prominent illustrator, working as a journalist and war artist. His works often depicted soldiers, cityscapes, and everyday life, blending realism with expressive line work. Stern was widely recognized for his contributions to Israeli art and illustration, earning the nickname "the Painter of Jerusalem" for his depictions of the city.
