Yayoi Kusama: Internationally renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama works in a wide range of media, from drawing, painting and photography to installation and performance art. Throughout her 60-year career, she has covered her drawings, sketches and sculptures with relentlessly repeating layers of polka dots, mesh, wavy lines and stickers. MoMA The collection features a selection of Kusama's work in different mediums, covering her career from the 1950s to the present.
"I love pumpkins," the artist explained in a 2015 interview, "because of their humorous form, warm feeling, and a human-like quality and form. My desire to create works of pumpkins still continues. I have enthusiasm as if I were still a child.”
