Sight Size: 22 x 29 in. William B. “Skip” Lawrence (American, 1943- ), artist, teacher and author was born in Baltimore, MD in 1943 and grew up attending schools in Howard County, MD. He received his B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art (1965) and his M.A. from Towson State University, Baltimore, MD (1972). From 1965-1972, he taught in Howard County, MD and after leaving the public school system to devote his time to painting, he was persuaded to teach part-time at Prince George’s Community College near Washington DC. One evening watercolor class at his studio in Laurel, MD had grown to hundreds of national and international workshops since 1976, when he conducted his first workshop in Nags Head, NC. Today he conducts an average of 20 workshops annually and maintains his home and studio in Mount Airy, MD. #1341 #20 Location BC
