He studied at the University of California, Berkeley (BS, 1957), and at the San Francisco Art Institute from 1965 to 1966 under Jay deFeo. He had a solo exhibition at the Western American Artists Museum in 1970, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in 1971, and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria in 1972. Weyman Lew has exhibited in more than forty solo exhibitions in North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Lew was a guest instructor at the De Young Memorial Museum of Art School in 1970 and 1971, and he served on the art advisory board to the Chinese Cultural Foundation, San Francisco, receiving the Distinguishd Award for culture and service. He also served on the board of the Asian American Arts Foundation, also in San Francisco. He is a member of the Californai Society of Printmakers.
