Vladimir Buzin was born in 1959 in Moscow, in the heart of the Soviet Union. As a youth he gravitated to art, first enamored with Soviet Realism but later inspired by his exposure to Impressionists and Expressionists, as well as a period in his 20s sharing a boarding house with a Brutalist architect. He graduated from the Tver Art School in 1982, following this with graduate studies at the Surikov Art Academy, which he finished in 1988. By then the Soviet Union was in turmoil, and he spent several years in Estonia, Latvia, and Belarus exploring landscapes and cityscapes in oils on canvas. In 1991 the majority of his paintings were acquired by the Tver Centre Museum and are still on display in the Impressionist Picture Gallery in Moscow. From the 1990s onwards he has traveled extensively throughout Russia, China, America, and the United Kingdom as a working artist, with his colorful pieces found in public and private collections around the world.
