Founded in 1775 under the royal decree of Queen Juliane Marie and chemist Frantz Heinrich Müller, Royal Copenhagen became famous for its iconic "Blue Fluted" porcelain utilizing Norwegian cobalt. Marked by three wavy lines representing Denmark’s major waterways, the firm transitioned to private ownership in 1868 and was later acquired by earthenware producer Aluminia. After adopting modernist designs and undergoing late-20th-century corporate shifts, the company eventually ended its Danish manufacturing, with production moving to Thailand.
