Nayler Silver Company was established in London, England by Alfred Walter Nayler in 1908. He was joined by his brother William Edwin Nayler in 1909, when the company renamed itself Nayler Brothers. After the end of World War I the company rebranded once again as Nayler Brothers & Sons, when they began to produce solely hand-chased silver plated works, primarily using the trademarked style known as Folgate. At the dawn of World War II several of the sons went off to fight, and the company absorbed two other smaller operations, changing their name one last time to Nayler Brothers (Silversmiths) Ltd with C.T. Smith and his wife, daughter of W.E. Nayler, as directors. The war effort took its toll, and the company closed for good in the late 1940s.
Shattered but mostly intact glass. Original patina. Commensurate with age.
