Vintage Multicolor Hand-Blown Glass Dish. Vintage glass dish, hand blown, with ribbons of various colors radiating from the center. Square form with soft edges and wavy lip. 

Condition: Good. 

Size: 5 x 5 x 2 in. 

Glassblowing is a centuries-old art form in which molten glass is shaped and inflated into various forms using a blowpipe and other tools. The process begins with heating glass to a molten state in a furnace, after which the artisan gathers a portion on the end of a blowpipe. By blowing air into the pipe and manipulating the glass with tools, the artist creates a wide range of items, from decorative pieces to functional objects. Glassblowing requires precision, skill, and creativity, with techniques like free-blowing, mold-blowing, and lampworking offering diverse artistic possibilities. Today, glassblowing is celebrated as both a traditional craft and a contemporary art form.
