Loft Incorporated was a prominent American confectionery company founded in New York City in the early 20th century, best known for operating elegant candy shops and soda fountains that became social hubs in urban centers. The company achieved lasting fame through its creation of the Cherry Mash candy bar in 1918, a chocolate-coated confection filled with cherries and nuts that remains in production today. Beyond candy, Loft was also influential in shaping American café culture, blending retail sweets with refined interiors and hospitality that reflected the tastes and leisure habits of the early to mid-20th century.
