Hollywood Regency, sometimes called Regency Moderne, is a glamorous interior design style from Hollywood’s Golden Era (1920s-1950s), characterized by bold colors, high-contrast palettes, luxurious materials, and dramatic accents like mirrored surfaces, gold finishes, and plush fabrics. It typified the glamorous homes and estates of the actors and actresses who lived in southern California during the period, with key designers like Dorothy Draper and Billy Haines.  It aims for opulence and comfort through a theatrical and cinematic quality, often using symmetry in its arrangements and incorporating elements like animal prints and geometric patterns, and remains a popular style both in and beyond California to this day.
