Vintage Handcrafted Vietnamese Shaman's Robe with Figural and Animal Designs.
Silk detailing on a rougher cotton base, made to be both aesthetic and rugged. A rarely seen piece of ceremonial garb, used by followers of a Taoist-based syncretic folk religion during rituals, and mainly made by the rural and secretive tribes of the ethnic minorities of Vietnam. The imagery throughout the piece, which includes fearsome dragons, human figures riding on birds and horses, and large sun-like symbols in purples, blues, whites, and pinks indicates it was likely from one of the more sorcery-focused sects.
