Vintage Chinese Export Porcelain Tea Pot With Star of David. Unusual Chinese export porcelain teapot with floral circle surrounding radiant Star of David.

Chinese porcelain bearing the Star of David is a fascinating example of cross-cultural exchange, often linked to the Jewish communities of Kaifeng or to special commissions made for foreign traders and diasporic patrons. These rare pieces typically date from the Qing dynasty and reflect how Chinese artisans adapted their decorative traditions to suit the symbolic and religious needs of international clients. The Star of David may appear alongside traditional Chinese motifs such as peonies, clouds, or dragons, creating a unique blend of iconography that bridges Jewish identity and Chinese artistry. Whether for practical use or ceremonial display, these porcelains stand as quiet witnesses to the global currents of trade, faith, and cultural adaptation.

Provenance: Obtained from a landmark house in Greenwish, NY. Originally a gift from John Alexander McCone, sixth director of the CIA from 1961 to 1965.
