Bernardaud is a French family-run Limoges porcelain manufacturer. Founded in 1900 as L. Bernardaud & Cie, the company expanded internationally with a New York office in 1911. Under Léonard Bernardaud’s sons, Jacques and Michel, it gained recognition for Art Deco pieces at Paris exhibitions (1925, 1931, 1937) and modernized production with a gas-powered Hoffmann kiln in 1949. Pierre Bernardaud (1962) and cousin Paul collaborated with designer Raymond Loewy, embraced TV advertising, and acquired the Vignaud factory in 1970, doubling output. Michel Bernardaud (1957-) later led international expansion, acquired Royal Limoges, and established the Bernardaud Foundation in 2003. Today, the company employs over 300 people, blending tradition with modern techniques while maintaining high-quality porcelain.
