Exquisite porcelain and gilt bronze Belle Epoque French clock in a Japanese style.  A uniquely urn-shaped time piece crafted of richly colored blue, floral patterned enameling with gilt metal dragons ascending the sides. The clock is supported by four elephant heads and their trunks, while on top a Japanese scholar on horseback clutches his scroll.  The actual time piece, behind a heavy, beveled glass hinged door, has fine metal detailing on the face with hand-painted numbers on porcelain, and delicate hands.  Verso is a matching hinged glass door revealing the inner workings.  No pendulum or key present to test the working condition.
