Size: 24 1/8 x 4 x 24 1/2 in. #1908 The painter and sculptor, Udo Zembok, studied at Alanus University for Art and Social Sciences in Germany before experimenting with kiln-formed glass in The Netherlands in the mid-1970s. His works in glass include small-scale “sculptural paintings,” multi-media constructions, monumental installations, and architecture-related commissions. He addresses the perception of color, light, and space to reveal an inner third dimension in a translucent medium. The artist explains: “I work in the third dimension of color, as a sculptor who explores the language of color in the color space.” This minimalist work offers perceptual situations with the spectator as the reflections of the surroundings emerge in various ways – such as an act of contemplation or a look at one’s reflection generated by light and color.
