Mixed Media, "Fruits & Vegetables" signed lower right and verso. Trisha Adams, (nee Patricia Irene McLaughlin), was born and raised in California. She moved to Virginia after graduating from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO in 1980. She worked many years as a graphic designer before taking up the paintbrush in 2001. At that time she began working at the Loudoun Academy of the Arts (LAA) in Leesburg, VA and studied with the instructors there. In 2004, Adams left her position as the school's director to paint full-time. Two of Adams' paintings are in public collections. The first painting, Rockland Farm, was a purchase award for the Town of Leesburg's permanent art collection in 2004. The second painting, titled Dusk, was purchased by the Virginia State Capitol in 2007 and hangs in the Senate clerk's office. In 2005, Adams collaborated on Harlequin Horse, a painted fiberglass sculpture in the public art project, Horsing Around Loudoun. In 2007, she was awarded a residency by the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust. She is known for still life and landscape painting.
