Tim Yanke, born in Detroit in 1962, developed an early passion for art, discovering abstraction by age eight with encouragement from his father. After studying advertising and graphic arts at the University of North Texas, he developed his distinctive style of modern abstract expressionism. Yanke's career took off in 1987 after a successful showing in Michigan, and in 1999, his representation through Park West Gallery led to global exhibitions. Today, his highly sought-after work, often influenced by the American Southwest, Native American themes, and animal life, is continually produced from his Detroit studio.
