Tiffany Studios was the decorative arts workshop founded by Louis Comfort Tiffany in New York in the 1890s, celebrated for its innovative glasswork and luxurious Art Nouveau designs. The studio produced stained-glass windows, Favrile glass pieces, lamps, mosaics, and furnishings that combined meticulous craftsmanship with nature-inspired motifs like flowers, dragonflies, and flowing vines. A hallmark of Tiffany Studios was its unique approach to glass, using layered and opalescent techniques to achieve painterly effects without paint, creating vibrant, luminous surfaces. Staffed by highly skilled artisans—including the notable “Tiffany Girls,” who specialized in glass selection and cutting—the studio became internationally acclaimed and profoundly influenced American decorative art in the early 20th century.
