The Dreyfus Affair Ben Shahn Prints Deluxe Edition - limited to 6 copies. This is the elegant portfolio reproducing 8 color illustrations by Ben Shahn of the participants of the 1894 Dreyfus Affair. These exquisite oversized images are reproduced by offset lithography, signed by the artist in the plate and individually housed in printed paper portfolios with tissue overlays.
The prints are accompanied by a twenty-eight page hardbound book that typographically transcribes in French and English "J'Accuse.!" - Emile Zola's famous 1898 letter to French president Felix Faure in defense of Dreyfus - along with brief scholarly essays on Shahn, L'Affaire Dreyfus, and this project.
Overall excellent condition, wear on outer edge of box and corners - shown in images.
