This is an abstract floral still life by Teal McKibben, an artist from Iowa who learned to hook rugs and embroider cloth from her parents. She moved to Hawaii and studied art at Stevens College in Missouri and New Mexico in the 1950's. She painted in Texas, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. In 1978 she moved to New Mexico and became an advocate for Native American artists. The painting is signed on the back and the overall size is 15 3/8 x 20 5/8 in. wide. Provenance: the Hirsch estate.
